About Me

I grew up in Columbus, Ohio, itching to see the world. After college, I spent my twenties traveling the globe and living and working in Beirut, Lebanon. My education and experiences eventually earned me a job in Washington and a life defined by D.C. traffic and deadlines.

I had to ask, is this all there is?

That’s when I decided to make the leap from cubicle servitude to visual art. I find I cannot stick to one medium. As much as I love painting on canvas, I love to experiment with mixed media, printmaking, and fiber art. Recently, I added quilting to my repertoire.

My Goals for this Blog

Most of all, this is a chronicle of my artistic journey. I discuss the inspiration behind my work and my creative process. However, I also want to share what I’ve learned on my journey in hopes of inspiring other like-minded folks. People who, like me, have left behind a secure but unsatisfying career to create a more meaningful, creative life.

  1. Hello
I am so enjoying your blog. My three children are artists and I am on the brink, after having to spend far too many years working.
I encourage you to keep on documenting your thoughts and artistic process.
    best regards

    1. Hi Lynne,
Thanks so much and thanks for reading. I’m working on a post right now, Tips on How to be an Artist. 🙂 I hope it’s helpful advice. I know how tough it is to make the time to be an artist when there is work and other obligations.
