Kicking off 2022 with a new modern embroidery sampler!
I enjoy these large pieces because they are nice to work on in between other projects, they use up left over thread, and they are avenues for free-flowing, creative exploration. I just choose colors and then decide, inch by inch, what I want to do next. It evolves and flows and I make a lot of little discoveries. This one incorporated some new stitches, too, including ribbon stitching and turkey work (can you find them?)

I stretched this over a canvas and attached a saw tooth hook and now it is gracing my studio wall.
I’ll be selling this piece through the ACC American Craft Made show in Baltimore next month, which will be both in person and online! Update: Due to challenges surrounding COVID-19, the fair has been postponed until May 20-22 and the online marketplace will be up from May 16-29.

Well, Heather, you got me to look up some stitching! (which is amazing in itself) I couldn’t close your email without knowing what the ribbon stitching and turkey work looked like. 😉
Keep up the good work! Chris Long
Thanks Chris! ☺️
